Merab Dvalishvili has claimed Georgio Poullas was overly aggressive during his RAF06 match against Arman Tsarukyan.

This past Saturday, UFC lightweight contender Arman Tsarukyan returned to the wrestling mats when he took on Georgio Poullas.

After scoring the decision win, Tsarukyan sparked a huge brawl with his opponent, throwing punches at him, which resulted in a huge melee between both of their teams.

Despite it being the Armenian fighter who threw the first punch at Poullas, it is the latter who is being blamed for sparking the brawl by being overly aggressive by UFC star, Merab Dvalishvili.

Can Arman Tsarukyan be trusted with a UFC title shot?

Between punching a fan at UFC 300, his Dan Hooker headbutt and now the RAF brawl, is Arman Tsarukyan too much of a loose canon for the UFC title?

Merab Dvalishvili: Georgio Poullas initiated chaotic brawl with Tsarukyan

Dvalishvili was in attendance for the event watching his teammate Aljamain Sterling compete and waiting for the announcement of his match against Henry Cejudo.

And because of that, he was front row when the brawl kicked off, watching it unfold with fellow UFC star, Sean O’Malley.

“I think Georgio started that, and he was doing too much,” Dvalishvili told The Ariel Helwani Show.

“They did take a point from him and yeah, I’m not a wrestler and I think if they were going to fight, they should’ve fought during the wrestling match, not after.

“Yeah, Georgio was doing too much, for sure. He was fighting aggressive, and we all see now how he was pushing his face and stuff.”

Following the brawl, Poullas was somewhat given a grilling by Cejudo, who told him he would’ve been disqualified if it was in any other Freestyle Wrestling competition.

Tsarukyan returns to competition in just 10 days

Since last fighting in the UFC in November, ‘Ahalkalakets’ has competed four times in several different competitions.

And before he returns to the premier MMA promotion, the Armenian will compete elsewhere again, as he is scheduled to headline Hype FC on March 11.

At this point, the 29-year-old still doesn’t have an opponent but he will be joined on the card by UFC stars, Jean Silva and Shara Magomedov.

After his brawl with Poullas went viral online amongst the combat sports fanbase, Tsarukyan is attempting to make as much money from it by releasing merchandise celebrating the brawl.
