Rhys McKee’s first UFC win was a long time coming and it was made even sweeter with a $50,000 bonus.
In his second run and fifth fight with the promotion, McKee finally marked one down in the win column with a gnarly first-round doctor stoppage knockout of Daniel Frunza at UFC Vegas 105. It was a cathartic moment for McKee, who went 0-2 inside the octagon in 2020 before parting ways with the promotion. He returned in 2023 and lost two more fights before defeating Frunza on Saturday.
For his efforts, McKee was awarded his first UFC Performance of the Night bonus, as were Dione Barbosa and Chang Ho Lee.
Barbosa collected an extra $50,000 with a dominant grappling performance against Diana Belbita that ended with Barbosa forcing Belbita to tap to an arm-triangle choke. The win improved Barbosa’s UFC record to 2-1.
Lee was making his UFC debut proper after winning a Road to UFC tournament to earn a contract. He too used grappling to put a one-sided beatdown on Cortavious Romious. It was one way traffic for over eight minutes before Lee scored a TKO finish late in Round 2.
With no Fight of the Night handed out, four Performance of the Night bonuses were awarded, with the other going to flyweight veteran Ode Osbourne.
Osbourne put recent Contender Series signing Luis Gurule away with strikes in Round 2 and went on to collect his first bonus since June 2022.
