I write up every time a fighter gets a No. 1 sanctioning body ranking. Sometimes the ranking is logical — as you noted — and sometimes not. Either way, it gets an article.

Sounds like mbili or plausible Jake Paul will be canelo next fight if there’s no Crawford rematch

It’s absolutely news worthy because it’s extremely rare for the (corrupt) sanctioning bodies to show this level of unity. We know the sanctioning body rankings should be roughly the same but they’re not, and we all know why.

The IBF are trying to push Frank Sanchez into a mandatory position despite having beaten just one

No surprise, the unified champion beat the living shyt out of everyone and lost to one man. Of course Canelo should take the #1 spot at 168lbs, this isn’t controversial it’s obvious. This is a fake issue and not even news worthy.

I don’t see how anyone else can be ranked ahead of Canelo at 168.

He’s beaten almost all the other guys and just lost to Crawford. Those he didn’t beat, his resume at 168 is superior.
