‘I can’t be upset’: Patchy Mix releases first statement after UFC 320 loss to Jakub Wiklacz

Patchy Mix is now 0-2 in the UFC, and in the immediate aftermath, he took the loss in stride.

Mix faced former KSW champ Jakub Wiklacz in a preliminary bout at UFC 320 on Saturday. The former Bellator bantamweight champion had another tough night in the UFC octagon and ultimately dropped a split decision to Wiklacz.

“No Love” made a quick video statement on his Facebook page following the loss, and despite the majority of people believing he won, Mix accepted defeat.

“Walking home from the arena, man, it just hits you, you know?,” Mix said. “Just got to keep it in perspective. Can’t win split decisions and be happy when I win them and then when I lose them, I can’t be upset, either.

“Much respect to my opponent and his team, and just got to get back to the drawing board, get better.”

After PFL absorbed Bellator, Mix wasn’t as active as he had been in prior years, which led to him publicly asking for his release from the organization, which was eventually granted. Mix went on to sign with the UFC and stepped in to face Mario Bautista on short notice at UFC 316 in June where he dropped a lopsided unanimous decision.

Mix attempted to bounce back in a tough fight against the UFC newcomer, but Wiklacz showed just enough over the three rounds to put Mix on the first multi-fight losing streak of his 23-fight pro career.
