Dana White unsure if Ronda Rousey actually plotting a comeback but admits ‘she’s freaking ripped’ now

October 8, 2025

Ronda Rousey stoked the flames about a potential comeback after she posted videos that showed her back in training while saying she was “finding my love” for MMA again.

She also added the famous phrase “never say never” when asked about fighting again and with the UFC planning for the biggest card in history at the White House in 2026, it’s tough not to think how Rousey could potentially fit into those plans. At her peak, Rousey was one of the biggest stars in the sport and her returning to the UFC would receive a jaw-dropping amount of attention.

Still, UFC CEO Dana White isn’t going to try and book Rousey just yet, especially knowing how much she’s settled into her retired life as a wife and mother. Thatsaid, he also confessed she’s putting in the kind of work that at least makes her look like she’s ready to fight again.

“Her and I are still very close,” White said about Rousey at the UFC 320 post-fight press conference. “I would say we probably talk once every three months or something like that and she was in Vegas recently. She came by the offices but I don’t know what her plans are.

“I think she’s just training again. She just had three babies and she’s in a whole other place in her life. But I will say this, she just had another baby and she’s in great shape right now. She’s freaking ripped like she used to be. I don’t know.”

With her 39th birthday coming in February and nearly a decade gone since she last fought, Rousey really has no reason to make a comeback unless she just didn’t like the way she left the sport.

After reigning as champion for nearly three years with six title defenses under her belt, Rousey suffered the first loss of her career when she was brutally knocked out by Holly Holm in 2015.

Rousey didn’t return to action for over a year but he next fight didn’t go any better with Amanda Nunes dispatching her in just 48 seconds.

Following those losses, Rousey moved into professional wrestling with a stint at WWE before leaving that business to focus on expanding her family with husband and former UFC heavyweight Travis Browne.

That’s remained Rousey’s priority along with writing a new autobiography and a script that’s being adapted into a biopic about her life story.

Would she ever actually consider a return to the UFC after all that?

Tough to say but she hasn’t shut the door on that possibility and neither did White when addressing the former bantamweight champion.
