UFC 321: Newcomer steps in to face surging heavyweight on Tom Aspinall vs. Ciryl Gane fight card

October 15, 2025

Valter Walker will fight in Abu Dhabi after all.

Walker was frustrated when Muhammad Usman withdrew from their UFC Rio bout this past Saturday in Brazil and told MMA Fighting he planned to waste no time on the sidelines, angling for a clash at UFC 321 on Oct. 25.

Multiple people with knowledge of the situation confirmed to MMA Fighting that Walker will now face Louie Sutherland. Laerte Viana first reported the news.

Sutherland (10-3) was scheduled to make his octagon debut on Sept. 27 but was left without an opponent after Justin Tafa withdrew from UFC Perth. “The Vanilla Gorilla” is a former Levels Fight League champion with previous experience under the Bellator and PFL banners.

Walker (14-1) successfully rebounded from a lackluster UFC debut loss to finish three in a row since Aug. 2024, tapping out Junior Tafa, Don’Tale Mayes and Kennedy Nzechukwu with heel hooks.

UFC 321 will be headlined by a heavyweight championship clash between Tom Aspinall and Ciryl Gane, with Virna Jandiroba and Mackenzie Dern rematching in the co-main event for the vacant strawweight throne.
