Two-time PFL champion Larissa Pacheco is no longer on the company roster, and she seems upset with how things unfolded.
Pacheco issued a comment on her release from PFL with a video posted on her Instagram stories over the weekend, revealing she had signed a bout agreement for a fight, which had yet to be announced by the promotion. Sadly, PFL ultimately scrapped the fight and released her from the roster.
“I was training, I was already in camp,” Pacheco said. “I had to end the camp because they cancelled the fight that was booked. Anyway, I have the contract, I have many things you’ll soon know. You’ll know my next step soon, but for now I’m working and doing my part. I know it’s in God’s hands, and soon we’ll have something booked, ok?“
Pacheco won two PFL tournaments as a lightweight and featherweight, including a victory over future UFC champion Kayla Harrison but she hasn’t competed since losing a decision to Cris Cyborg in October 2024.
As for her departure from PFL, Pacheco said she can’t get in details at the moment.
“There are many news out there,” Pacheco said. “Some things I can say, others I can’t say yet. But I saw one thing I can share, which is about my PFL release. I’m not the one in the wrong. I’ve done my part and delivered fights. They released me for reasons that I’ll talk soon — and it’s not my fault. I’ve done my part, and you have to know that. I’m free — for now, for now.”
Pacheco (23-5) fought twice in the UFC in 2014 and 2015, losing bantamweight matches to Jessica Andrade and Germaine de Randamie. Pacheco moved up in weight since and won 13 of 16 bouts, including victories over Karol Rosa, Sarah Kaufman and Julia Budd, plus a 1-2 run versus Harrison.
