Casey Kenney was sentenced to 180 days in jail after he ultimately plead guilty on a lesser charge after being arrested back in 2024.
Per court records obtained by MMA Fighting, the 34-year-old fighter made a plea deal with prosecutors for an aggravated assault charge, a class six felony for domestic violence, after he was initially hit with a multitude of charges including kidnapping, disorderly conduct, and several assault charges.
Under the conditions of his plea deal, Kenney was sentenced to six months in the county jail, which began on Oct. 30 and he also has to stay on probation for the next three years. Kenney must also complete a substance abuse program and a domestic violence offender treatment program.
He must also stay away from the victim in the case and pay court fines and fees after his release from jail, which is currently listed as May 1, 2026.
Kenney also pled down a separate case for drug paraphernalia possession that puts him on supervised probation for two years starting on Oct. 30 and he also has to complete 100 hours of community service along with the substance abuse treatment program.
Originally arrested back in August 2024 after a police investigation led to Kenney being hit with a multitude of charges related to an incident with his ex-girlfriend.
A probable cause statement revealed the allegations against Kenney after he was arrested:
“Between the dates of 7-21-2024 at approximately 11:00 p.m. and 7-22-24 at approximately 12:14 a.m. while at the single family residence located at [address redacted], [suspect] Casey Kenney committed kidnapping, aggravated assault by strangulation and assault against [victim] by repeatedly striking, slapping, biting, headbutting and choking [victim] for several hours resulting in abrasions to [victim’s] lip and discoloration to [victim’s] arms and petechiae to [victim’s] neck.
“Furthermore, during the 13 hours at Casey Kenney’s residence, [victim] was incapable of escaping the residence due to Casey routinely grabbing hold of [victim] and holding her in place during her attempts while threatening to cause more physical harm. Casey Kenney advised [victim] that if anyone shows up he will shoot them and if her mother shows up he will shoot her in the head. [Victim] stated she desires prosecution in this matter at this time.”
