Welcome to the UFC, Josh Hokit!
On Saturday night, Hokit made his UFC debut, taking on Max Gimenis in a prelim heavyweight bout at UFC Vegas 111; and things could scarcely have gone better for the recent Contender Series signee. Hokit came out quickly, dropping Gimenes with punches early, and then putting the Brazilian fighter out on his feet with a barrage of follow-up shots to pick up his first UFC win in just 56 seconds.
But Hokit wasn’t done there. “The Incredible Hok” made a name for himself on Contender Series with a boisterous post-fight persona, and Hokit brought that same enthusiasm to his first UFC post-fight speech, where he donned his American flag bandana and ripped off a poem, plus a callout.
“I’m the talk of the town, the U.S.A. sound, the most profound, the boy toy, the ladies’s joy, the master of disaster, the truth-speaking pastor’s pastor, the biggest arm, the most charm, the one that’s going to do all the harm. I’m more than meets the eye, I’m even sweeter than your grandma’s homemade apple pie.
“And lastly I’ll leave you with this: I already stomped two Brazilians, and I’m looking for a third. Valter Walker, you absolutely suck!”
Walker was quick to respond to the callout on social media.
“Josh Hokkit, I want you next,” Walker wrote. “I’m gonna kick your head like a soccer ball and force you to respect Brazil and our culture, you piece of shit.”
