Belal Muhammad set to wrestle 2-time NCAA champion at RAF 4

November 29, 2025

Belal Muhammad isn’t wasting time getting back into action.

Following a disappointing loss to Ian Machado Garry at UFC Qatar this past Saturday, Muhammad is set to wrestle two-time NCAA Division-I freestyle wrestling champion and current Real American Freestyle welterweight titleholder David Carr at RAF 4 on Dec. 20 in Fishers, Ind.

Check out RAF’s official announcement below.

Muhammad, 37, looks to move on from back-to-back losses inside the octagon. The former UFC welterweight champion lost his title to Jack Della Maddalena at UFC 315 in May, then returned at UFC Qatar, only to lose a unanimous decision to Ian Machado Garry in the co-main event. This is the first losing streak of Muhammad’s 30-fight pro MMA career.

Carr became RAF’s inaugural welterweight champion with a win over Egyptian Olympian Amr Reda Hussen in October. The 26-year-old competed in two different divisions in college, winning a national title at 157 pounds in 2021 and then at 165 pounds in 2024.

It’s been a busy first year for RAF, which holds its third event Saturday in Chicago. Former UFC stars Chad Mendes and Michael Chandler headline RAF 3, with UFC veterans Joaquin Buckley and Clay Guida also in action, plus Bella Mir, the daughter of MMA legend Frank Mir.
