Lithuanian welterweight Egidijus Kavaliauskas (25-3-1) won the EBU title with a split, and according to Spanish sources controversial, decision over defending champion Samuel Molina (32-4-1). After 12 rounds of boxing the judges had it 115-113 twice for Kavaliuskas and 115-114 for Molina.
