‘Still got it at 50 years old’: Pros react to Anderson Silva knocking out Tyron Woodley in boxing match

December 20, 2025

Anderson Silva just keeps adding knockouts to his incomparable highlight reel.

At Friday’s Jake Paul vs. Anthony Joshua event in Miami, Silva faced fellow former UFC champion Tyron Woodley in a boxing match and the GOAT middleweight made short work of “The Chosen One,” sizing him up in the corner and unleashing a quick combination of strikes that had Woodley falling almost face-first to the mat. Woodley ended up on his knees and beat the count, but looked visibly dazed and referee Samuel Burgos waved the bout off after Woodley’s corner decided he was unable to continue.

The matchup pit two respected MMA veterans against one another, with Silva and Woodley having turned 50 and 43 this year, respectively. Silva is the more feared striker of the two and that played out as expected as “The Spider” coasted through Round 1 before going for the kill. With the win, Silva is now 4-2 as a pro boxer and he rebounds from an October 2022 loss to Paul.
