Top lightweight prospect books new opponent for UFC 325

January 9, 2026

Quillan Salkilld is still getting his chance to fight on home soil.

On Thursday, the UFC announced Salkilld (10-1) now faces replacement Jamie Mullarkey (18-8) at UFC 325 on Jan. 31 at Qudos Bank Arena in Sydney, Australia. Mullarkey steps in on short notice with Salkilld’s originally scheduled opponent Rongzhu out for undisclosed reasons.

Salkilld was one of the breakout fighters of 2025, stringing together consecutive wins over Anshul Jubli, Yanal Ashmouz, and Nasrat Haqparast after being signed off of Dana White’s Contender Series. The latter victory came via one of the most vicious knockouts of the year as Salkilld leveled Haqparast with a head kick that left the veteran unconscious on the canvas for a scary amount of time.

Mullarkey, who also hails from Australia, won his lone bout of 2025 to snap a two-fight skid. He defeated Rolando Bedoya in September to improve his UFC record to 6-6.

UFC 325 is headlined by a featherweight title rematch between champion Alexander Volkanovski and Diego Lopes.
