Tyson Fury comeback fight, opponent announced for Netflix on April 11

January 28, 2026

Tyson Fury has a date and an opponent for his latest comeback.

Netflix announced Wednesday that Fury (34-2-1) is set to fight Arslanbek Makhmudov (21-2) in a heavyweight bout that will air live on the streaming service on April 11 in the U.K. The exact location and venue are yet to be revealed.

Fury retired from boxing in January 2025 following a second consecutive championship fight loss to rival Oleksandr Usyk. It was the fifth-such time Fury has hung up the gloves, leading to much skepticism around whether the 37-year-old was truly done fighting, especially with a highly anticipated bout with fellow British star Anthony Joshua still looming.

Sure enough, earlier this January, Fury announced his plans for a comeback and began regularly posting training videos and clips discussing his intentions to reach the top of the sport again. Fury is a former unified world champion and has captured belts across the various major organizations on multiple occasions. He seeks his first win since a narrow victory over former UFC star Francis Ngannou in October 2023.

For now, the Joshua fight is once again on hold with Joshua currently dealing with a personal tragedy. In December, Joshua was involved in a car accident in Nigeria that resulted in the death of close friends and coaches Latif Ayodele and Sina Ghami.

Makhmudov has won his past two fights, and three of his past four, most recently defeating David Allen to capture a WBA Inter-Continental heavyweight title. The 36-year-old had aspirations to fight Joshua himself, but instead matches up with another legend of this era, Fury.
