Coming off a 15-bout win streak, Albanian heavyweight Kristian “KP” Prenga returns to action over eight rounds at the Showboat Hotel and Casino in Atlantic City on February 21.
The 19-1 (19 KOs) puncher faces veteran Joe Jones, who is 16-14-1 (10 KOs).
Prenga, formerly a kickboxer, now boxing out of Edgewater in New Jersey, is ready for his fifth outing on the New Jersey shore.
The 34-year-old last defeated Brandon Carmack in a round in Ballys on December 6.
The 6ft 5ins, 260lbs Prenga said: “This is going to be a great fight. Jones is an experienced and tough opponent. I have been training hard and camp is going great. I like fighting in Atlantic City because my fans enjoy spending the weekend there, watching my fight, and if they are lucky in the casino, we all go home winners.”
It has been nine years since Prenga tasted defeat, when he lost an eight-rounder in his fifth fight on points.
Jones fights out of Jersey City, NJ, and on January 6 defeated Cleotis Pendaruis by a majority over six rounds.
It will be Prenga’s first contest since signing with manager Keith Sullivan.
“Kristian Prenga is an exciting and powerful puncher,” Sullivan said. “I am thrilled to start this journey with a fight against an experienced Joe Jones in Atlantic City. Kristian is ready to showcase his strength and determination, and the fans are in for an unforgettable night. “There will be a lot of Albanian flags flying in the convention center as the pride of Albania will be in full effect on fight night.”
