UFC Houston video: Joselyne Edwards submits Nora Cornolle after strange non-stoppage

February 22, 2026

Joselyne Edwards avenged a past loss to Nora Cornolle, with a little extra thanks to some negligent officiating.

“La Pantera” made it four straight wins with an impressive finish of Cornolle at UFC Houston, ending the bout with a hard slam and hammerfists that left Cornolle open for a rear-naked choke submission in the second round. The sequence was not without controversy as Cornolle appeared to be badly dazed—and possibly injured according to speculation from the commentary team—following Edwards’ slam, but referee Jacob Montalvo allowed the bout to continue despite Edwards landing multiple unanswered ground-and-pound shots.

Check out the finish below.

The official time of the stoppage was 2:44 into Round 2.

Afterwards, Cornolle was still out of sorts was and unable to be part of the result announcement as she seemed to be favoring her shoulder. Edwards made sure to check on Cornolle before the fighters exited the cage.

This was the second time the bantamweights fought, with Cornolle defeating Edwards at a UFC Paris event in September 2023. Their series now stands at 1-1, with Edwards owning the more definitive victory.

Edwards (17-6) has overcome weight-cutting issues and inconsistency to emerge as a dark horse contender at 135 pounds, with her wins by knockout or submission in her past four appearances.
