Arman Tsarukyan is already cashing in on the chaos that he caused in Arizona on Saturday night with some new merchandise.
The top UFC lightweight contender defeated Georgio Poullas in the co-main event of RAF06, before proceeding to attack the social media star. Their match had gotten dirty, as promised, with new footage appearing to show Poullas even gouging his opponent’s eyes.
Can Arman Tsarukyan be trusted with a UFC title shot?
Between punching a fan at UFC 300, his Dan Hooker headbutt and now the RAF brawl, is Arman Tsarukyan too much of a loose canon for the UFC title?
Tsarukyan has shown little to no contrition after the fact, and now seems to be making money from the actions. Meanwhile, Poullas is pushing for a rematch after posting a series of videos on Instagram.
Arman Tsarukyan’s response to Georgio Poullas already being sold on a t-shirt
Shortly after the controversial match on Saturday night, Arman Tsarukyan took to social media to tell Poullas “F— around and find out”. His tweet was viewed over 1.4 million times, and made headlines across the MMA world.
And just days after the incident, Tsarukyan has partnered with Full Violence to put a t-shirt on sale bearing the quote, as well as a photo of himself. The black t-shirt costs $35 plus shipping, with sizes from small up to 7XL.
Tsarukyan’s meeting with Poullas was his fourth bout in the 100 days since he fought Dan Hooker in the main event of UFC Qatar. He is the clear top contender for the lightweight title, but will have to wait for interim champion Justin Gaethje to unify with Ilia Topuria.
As a result, Tsarukyan has stayed particularly busy by grappling and wrestling almost every other week for the past three months. He defeated former UFC champion Benson Henderson just before UFC Qatar, and has since gone on to beat Poullas, Lance Palmer and Mehdi Baydulaev.
And he is booked to compete again at Hype FC in just nine days, with an opponent to be announced shortly. Last time the Armenian got into the Hype FC ring he was held to a draw when he jumped up two divisions to face middleweight contender Shara Magomedov in a brief match.
