Arman Tsarukyan and Georgio Poullas will go head-to-head for the second time in under two weeks.
The tension between Tsarukyan and Poullas boiled over in their match at RAF 6 on Saturday night, leading to a brawl that was broken up by security and their teams.
It looked like the UFC lightweight may have had the final say on this rivalry when he struck his opponent after their contest.
However, Tsarukyan’s comments about there still being unfinished business has now led to a rematch between them, and fans won’t have to wait long to see it.
Can Arman Tsarukyan be trusted with a UFC title shot?
Between punching a fan at UFC 300, his Dan Hooker headbutt and now the RAF brawl, is Arman Tsarukyan too much of a loose canon for the UFC title?
Arman Tsarukyan vs Georgio Poullas rematch announced for Hype Brazil on March 11
On the same night that Jorge Masvidal makes his return, Arman Tsarukyan will face Georgio Poullas in a submission only rematch.
They’re set to headline Hype FC’s upcoming event at the Farmasi Arena in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil on March 11.
It had already been announced that Tsarukyan would be a part of this event to participate in his third grappling match of the year but booking this rematch has now made it a must-watch.
Many took the UFC star’s side after watching the footage of the contest, where Poullas attempted to strike his opponent several times to continuously frustrate him.
That being said, with Tsarukyan having encouraging talks with UFC’s Hunter Campbell about his next fight inside the Octagon, being involved in a second brawl within the space of two weeks might not help his case.
Poullas said he was jumped “by like 12 Armenians” when speaking after the match, but you’d imagine that his opponent will have even more support with him for the rematch.
The event on March 11 is also set to feature Jean Silva in a submission only match, though his opponent hasn’t been announced yet.
