Arman Tsarukyan will compete in a main event match less than two weeks after his antics at RAF Wrestling.
The top UFC lightweight attacked rival Georgio Poullas after winning an ugly match 5-3 at Saturday’s RAF06 in Arizona, leading to a brawl between their two teams. Now, he is taking another crack at submission grappling in the main event of Hype FC’s big Brazilian show.
Can Arman Tsarukyan be trusted with a UFC title shot?
Between punching a fan at UFC 300, his Dan Hooker headbutt and now the RAF brawl, is Arman Tsarukyan too much of a loose canon for the UFC title?
He will be joined by the Fighting Nerds’ Jean Silva, as well as a fascinating matchup between the returning former BMF champion Jorge Masvidal and fan favorite middleweight prospect Shara Magomedov.
Arman Tsarukyan headlining Hype FC on March 11
One of the biggest fight promotions in the Middle East; Hype FC, is coming to Brazil for a star-studded event on March 11 in Rio. And they have now added one of the biggest names in the UFC currently; Arman Tsarukyan.
The lightweight contender has been on a run of competing every few weeks as he waits for his next move in the Octagon. He has competed four times in the 100 days since his UFC Qatar headliner where he submitted Dan Hooker.
He has won all but one of those outings, with ‘Shara Bullet’ holding him to a draw on December 30 when they met in the Hype FC ring. Their match was particularly brief, and both men noted not really knowing the rules.
While it has been confirmed that Tsarukyan will headline this particular show, no opponent has been named as yet. It is the same for home fighter Silva, who is one of the fastest-rising contenders down a division at featherweight.
The promotion are known to invest big money in their shows, and even offered the Magomedov match to Hollywood star Tom Hardy who ultimately turned it down before Tsarukyan stepped up. They have also pushed to have Dillon Danis settle his feud with Team Khabib by facing Magomed Zaynukov.
