Arman Tsarukyan’s rival Georgio Poullas has not been shy in speaking his mind following the pair’s post-match brawl.
The pair had vowed to make their match dirty after Poullas insisted that the top UFC lightweight would be unable to take him down. And there was almost a disqualification in the early stages as the pair slapped each other, before Tsarukyan ended up winning 5-3.
Can Arman Tsarukyan be trusted with a UFC title shot?
Between punching a fan at UFC 300, his Dan Hooker headbutt and now the RAF brawl, is Arman Tsarukyan too much of a loose canon for the UFC title?
Immediately after the final whistle, the Armenian proceeded to punch Poullas, who is a high school wrestling standout but best known for his large social media following. And the Ohio native has now released a string of videos discussing the incident.
Georgio Poullas speaks out after Arman Tsarukyan brawl
In new backstage photos released by the Instagram account Grappling Reels, the severity of the Arman Tsarukyan brawl could be seen. Poullas appeared to be bleeding from the nose in two pictures, and later shared a video from an ambulance where he discussed what had happened.
“Alright I want to send a message to all my fans and supporters,” Poullas said in his video. “I want to thank you guys, I hope you guys got some enjoyment out of the match tonight. Unfortunately I was jumped.
“But as you guys saw, my 62-year-old dad and both my brothers came to my rescue. That’s the way we were brought up to fight for each other no matter what. We were outnumbered by like 12 Armenians and they came out there running, fighting with me, fighting for me.
“So that’s f—ing love, that’s how we were raised. To Arman, you’re a little b—- and by the way if you watch the match I’m the only one that got the takedown. He got a push out and a couple of penalty points, I’m still the champ baby.”
There was debate over a late moment in the match where Tsarukyan clearly scored a takedown, but it happened after he had already been awarded a point for a push out so it didn’t count.
The official scoreboard very briefly went from 4-3 to 6-3, which would indicate two points for a takedown. However, that was corrected quickly to 5-3, which ended up being the final score of the match before the incident took place.
