Paulo Costa withdrew from a UFC 326 clash with Bruno Ferreira on March 7 to instead go up to light heavyweight and fight Azamat Murzakanov at UFC 327 on April 11, so “Hulk” will now take on Gregory Rodriguez on the Las Vegas card.
The UFC announced the match-up following a report from Laerte Viana. UFC 326 will be headlined by Charles Oliveira’s attempt to win the BMF title versus Max Holloway at the T-Mobile Arena.
Rodrigues (18-6) was coming off two UFC victories in January 2023 when Ferreira (15-2) replaced Brad Tavares on short notice and scored a massive upset with a vicious first-round knockout in Rio de Janeiro.
Ferreira has gone 5-2 since that bout, and enters UFC 326 on a three-fight winning streak capped off by a decision win over Marvin Vettori. In his previous bouts, “Hulk” stopped Armen Petrosyan and Jackson McVey with armbars.
Rodrigues was victorious in five of six bouts six the loss, beating Roman Kopylov and Jack Hermansson in his most recent appearances to bounce back from a UFC main event defeat to Jared Cannonier.
