Charles Oliveira is not interested in being crowned by a celebrity.
The former UFC lightweight champion will look to add the symbolic BMF belt to his résumé on MMA’s biggest stage on March 7.
Oliveira will challenge Max Holloway in the main event of UFC 326, which will take place at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.
The fight presents another opportunity for ‘Do Bronx’ to have gold wrapped around his waist, and he knows exactly who should be the one doing it.

Charles Oliveira wants to be presented with the BMF title at UFC 326 by his father
If he is victorious at UFC 326, Oliveira would like his father to be the one presenting him with the BMF belt.
A couple of celebrities have performed that act so far. Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson wrapped the belt around Jorge Masvidal’s waist after the inaugural BMF title fight in 2019, while rapper Lil Wayne did the honors after Max Holloway retired Dustin Poirier at UFC 318 last July to successfully defend the title.
Oliveira is not looking for a celebrity to take up the role for his first shot at the BMF championship. Instead, he laid out his ideal scenario during an interview with MMA Junkie.
“My father,” Oliveira said via his translator.
“The reality is if my father and my mother hadn’t believed in me and supported me, none of this would’ve ever happened. None of this would be possible. I wouldn’t be here.
“Having my father put the belt on me, that would be amazing,” he added.

Max Holloway vs Charles Oliveira is not enough to make UFC 326 a good card
The rematch between Holloway and Oliveira is undoubtedly a great fight, but that doesn’t stop UFC 326 from having two major problems — the BMF title and the undercard.
Years on from its creation, the BMF belt continues to divide opinion in the MMA community. The leading point in regard to UFC 326 is that a symbolic belt should not be the headline act of a numbered event, especially the third one of a new $7.7 billion broadcast deal.
That fact could perhaps have been overlooked if the promotion had littered the undercard with intriguing fights. Not only has that not happened, but the rest of the lineup is incredibly disappointing.
The UFC 326 co-main event features a clash between Caio Borralho and Reinier de Ridder, two middleweight contenders ranked outside the top five who are both coming off defeats. Elsewhere, the biggest names on show are the likes of Rob Font, Gregory Rodrigues, and Cody Garbrandt.
Take away the main event and UFC 326 would be a decent Fight Night card. But for a numbered event to close out a quarter of the year that has had just one undisputed divisional title fight? It is safe to say that the fans expect more.
