Colby Covington has audaciously called out Georges St-Pierre for a RAF wrestling match to find out the best takedown artist in the welterweight division.
The former UFC interim welterweight champion has been inactive in the premier MMA promotion since December 2024, when he suffered his second loss in a row.
Since then, ‘Chaos’ has largely been unusually quiet in the media, apart from one feud with Bo Nickal, who called him out for a clash on the UFC White House event.
Despite that, Colby Covington seemingly has his eyes set on another outing of the RAF wrestling mats, and he has audaciously called out Georges St-Pierre for a match.
Should Colby Covington retire from fighting in the UFC?
Covington wants wrestling match against GSP
Despite having not fought in the UFC since December 2024, Covington did return to competition this past January, when he took on Luke Rockhold in RAF.
And after picking up his first win in four years, the 38-year-old realised that maybe it is best for him to stick to wrestling for now.
With that, ahead of RAF06 this coming Saturday, Covington spoke to the media as he was in attendance for the media day, and he audaciously called for a clash against GSP.
“GSP might actually be in attendance at RAF07, I don’t like to give out spoilers, I don’t know if I’m supposed to be saying this, I’m sorry Chad (Bronstein) don’t kill me,” Covington told MMAFighting.
“But yeah, we might have GSP in attendance at RAF07 in Tampa and he’s expressed interest, he wants to compete against me, he’s still got that competitive fire, he’s still in great shape, training hard every day.
“So let’s find out who’s the number one takedown artist all-time in the welterweight division. GSP is number one, Colby Covington is number two, let’s find out who’s number one, GSP,” he continued.

Fans fuming that Covington is still ranked in the UFC
Earlier this week, UFC fans were left fuming following the latest rankings update.
Over the last few years, despite having not fought or picked up a win in the promotion since 2022, Covington still finds himself ranked inside the top 15 at 170lbs.
Not only that, but the 38-year-old actually jumped up a place in the rankings this past Tuesday, which left fans livid.
