Dana White slams Anthony Joshua vs. Jake Paul bout: ‘It’s crazy that that fight was even allowed to happen’

Dana White still isn’t a fan of the Jake Paul boxing experience.

Paul and White have made no secret of their disdain for one another, with Paul frequently criticizing White for underpaying his fighters, and White mocking the YouTuber-turned-boxer for how he has reacted to accusations of his bouts being fixed.

Regardless of the controversies surrounding his fights, Paul continues to draw widespread interest, most recently shocking fight fans when he accepted a bout with heavyweight star Anthony Joshua (who stepped in on short notice to replace Gervonta Davis following Davis being named in a civil suit and accused of multiple violent crimes).

Joshua predictably defeated Paul via sixth-round knockout in a farcical contest, and White still can’t believe the fighters actually went through with it.

“It’s crazy that that fight was even allowed to happen,” White told Complex.

Paul suffered a broken jaw from the finish and is currently on the mend. He has not indicated that he plans to stop competing, despite suffering the first knockout loss of his career.

The influencer boxing scene isn’t White’s cup of tea, but he sees no reason why Paul needs to quit fighting, even if the in-ring results leave something to be desired.

“As long as people keep wanting to pay and watch him fight, I guess he can keep doing it,” White said. “It’s just not what I do. To even comment on it, I think everyone that was involved in that thing should be embarrassed, No. 1. And No. 2, it’s just not what I’m into. Not my thing.”
