A former UFC fighter is reportedly in hot water.
According to CTV News in Canada, Montreal police confirmed ex-UFC welterweight Alex Garcia was one of three people arrested after the anti-gang unit seized 102 grams of cocaine in — what is being described as — a “major” raid.
Per the report, the cocaine amount was valued at $1.7 million USD ($2.3 million CAD), and officers also recovered 20 liters of gamma-hydroxybutyrate (GHB), approximately five kilograms of heroin, $306,000 in cash, along with three firearms and two vehicles.
“Launched in July 2025, this criminal investigation revealed that the Toronto area was being used as a supply source and that the drugs were then being resold at a higher price in Greater Montreal,” police said in a press release obtained by CTV News.
Michele Laddaga, 49, and 45-year-old Victor Julio Sanchez Medrano were also reportedly arrested as part of the investigation. Police are reportedly searching for wo other suspects — 40-year-old Rattana Sem and Véronique Plouffe, 37 — who are on the run.
Garcia competed 10 times inside the octagon with a promotional record of 5-5, and competed against the likes of Sean Strickland, Neil Magny, and Tim Means. The 38-year-old and Sanchez Medrano are being charged with drug trafficking and possession of proceeds of crime, per the report, whle Laddaga faces drug trafficking and possession charges.
