Jiri Prochazka could become a two-time UFC light heavyweight champion on April 11.
That opportunity has arrived at the Czech star’s doorstep as a result of Alex Pereira’s impending move to heavyweight this year.
With the title set to become vacant, Prochazka will battle Carlos Ulberg for the right to succeed ‘Poatan’ on the throne at 205 pounds.
‘BJP’ has already tasted title glory on MMA’s biggest stage, and he knows how to ensure he does again at UFC 327.
Who wins in the UFC 327 main event?
Does Jiri Prochazka become two-time champion or is it Carlos Ulberg’s time as Pereira drops the belt?
Jiri Prochazka says ‘pressure’ is the way to beat Carlos Ulberg
After confirmation of his third attempt at regaining the light heavyweight belt since injury cut his reign short in 2022, Prochazka previewed his upcoming title fight during an appearance on The Ariel Helwani Show.
The Czech fan favorite is known for his unorthodox style and relentless pressure, something that he believes is the key to ensuring Ulberg’s downfall in the Miami main event.
“I already chose the way I like to hunt Ulberg, because he doesn’t like the pressure,” Prochazka said.
“He doesn’t like to be hunted. This is what I say to myself, ‘I need to be that one who catches this guy.’
“There is no other way to fight with him,” he continued. “He is fast, good kickboxer, he likes to jump a lot, be light on the legs. He doesn’t like to wrestle, he doesn’t like to be on the ground.
“So pressure, pressure — that’s it.”

Prochazka’s knockout loss to Pereira at UFC 303 marked his second failed attempt to become a two-time champ, with ‘Poatan’ responsible for shutting down both challenges.
Now that the Brazilian is departing the division in pursuit of a historic third crowning, the door could be open for Prochazka to capitalize.
