Jon Jones gives UFC White House update, wrestles Khamzat Chimaev, and fires RPG

November 25, 2025

Jon Jones still has his sights set on a return at UFC White House.

Following his brief retirement this past June, Jones has made it clear he would like to fight at the upcoming UFC event expected to take place at the White House in June 2026. Logistics for the event are still being sorted out and an exact date is to be determined, but if it happens, the former two-division champion would like to be a part of it and he has targeted light heavyweight champion Alex Pereira.

On Tuesday, “Bones” took to social media to provide some life updates as well as answer a couple of questions about his potential White House appearance. Jones told one fan that Pereira talks are currently “out of my hands” but that he is “getting in shape” and “completely capable of hopping into training camp.” He added that he is fine not being in the main event at UFC White House should the Pereira fight materialize.

Jones’ flexible attitude may have something to do with the fact that UFC CEO Dana White has publicly expressed reluctance to book Jones on the card, citing the 38-year-old’s well-documented history of outside-of-the-cage issues that have affected the fighters’ career and the UFC’s plans.

Jones also shared photos and videos from his visit to Chechnya, where he was hosted by Head of the Chechen Republic Ramzan Kadyrov, who has previously attended a UFC event. The controversial Kadyrov has been accused of numerous human rights violations and was sanctioned by the United States in 2017, but Jones simply described him as “a great host.”

Jones also engaged in a playful impromptu spar with UFC middleweight champion Khamzat Chimaev and had the chance to test out several high-powered weapons, including an RPG.

Jones tweeted about other topics as well, including claiming he has been offered a grappling match with longtime rival Daniel Cormier and how he is on the potential of Olympic gold medal-winning wrestler and top MMA prospect Gable Steveson.
