Rubio, 23-4-3 (17 KOs), fought once in 2025, picking up a fifth-round knockout over Carlos Daniel Valenzuela Pacheco in November. Rubio, an aggressive puncher, has seen all four of his losses come by stoppage. In 2024, Rubio, a 30-year-old from Guaymas, Sonora, Mexico, was knocked out by Katsuma Akitsugi and Ramon Cardenas in consecutive bouts on ProBox TV before his recent win. He was also stopped by WBA featherweight titleholder Nick Ball in 2022.
