MMA Fighting has Dana White’s Contender Series season finale results for the Vidal vs. Rodrigues fight card and more from UFC APEX in Las Vegas on Tuesday night.
In the main event, Freddy Vidal and Levi Rodrigues meet in a light heavyweight contest. For Vidal (4-0), this is his second DWCS appearance in a little over a month. “The Barbarian” was victorious against Felipe Franco this past September, but badly missed weight for the bout, coming in 3.5 pounds over the limit. He gets his second chance tonight.
Rodrigues a.k.a. “Baby Monster” enters his UFC audition with a 5-0 pro record. All five of his wins have come by way of knockout.
Won Il Kwon and Juan Diaz compete in a bantamweight contest in the co-main event. A veteran from ONE Championship, Kwon (14-5) compiled a 9-5 record in the Singapore-based promotion, losing a title fight to Fabricio de Andrade in his most recent outing in January.
Diaz (14-1-1) is on a seven-fight win streak including back-to-back defenses of the Lux Fight League 135-pound title.
