Macy Chiasson cleared a big hurdle ahead of her return to face Ailin Perez on Saturday.
Earlier this week, Joe Rogan said the UFC are taking measures against weight cutting by trying to come up with solutions to prevent fighters from taking drastic measures.
The readings on the scales were particularly important if one UFC Mexico City matchup was going to stay together ahead of February 28.
Macy Chiasson’s recent track record led to her opponent drawing a line in the sand, though fortunately, it didn’t end up coming to this.

Macy Chiasson makes weight for Ailin Perez bout following opponent’s scathing comments
In an interview with Hablemos MMA, Ailin Perez said that she would refuse to fight Macy Chiasson this Saturday if her opponent missed weight on Friday.
Yana Santos accused Chiasson of wanting an unfair advantage when she missed the bantamweight mark for their matchup last October.
Perez, who has had some worrying moments on the scales in the past, said that her concerns about her opponent also came from the way that she looked when they’d crossed paths ahead of February 28.
”With me, that’s not going to fly,” she said. “I’ve been preparing for the last three months to first make the weight, and also to fight. So I’m not taking any excuses. She had a lot of time. I see her every day at the UFC PI, and I see she’s very big. I feel like she might not make weight.”
Fortunately, any questions over whether Perez would stay true to her word didn’t need to be answered due to both women hitting the bantamweight mark.
Chiasson even came in one pound lower than her opponent at 135 ahead of this first meeting between two of their division’s top 10 competitors.
