At UFC 313 this past March, then-UFC champion Alex Pereira lost his title against Magomed Ankalaev in a grueling close fight that went to the judges. The judges scored the fight 49-46, 48-47, and 48-47 to award Ankalaev his first UFC title via unanimous decision.
The loss snapped Pereira’s five-fight win streak. Since that encounter, Pereira has claimed he was “40 percent” for that fight as the animosity has ratcheted up between the two fighters before their upcoming rematch.
At UFC 320 on Saturday night, UFC light heavyweight champion Magomed Ankalaev will put his belt on the line against former UFC champion Alex Pereira in the main event.
Ankalaev hasn’t lost since UFC Fight Night 127 on March 17, 2018. He is 12-0-1 with 1 no-contest over his past 14 fights.
