Andrei Arlovski’s story with Jack Doherty may not be over anytime soon.
During Friday’s Jake Paul vs. Anthony Joshua card, the former UFC heavyweight champion was shown in the arena defending himself against Doherty, and other influencers, knocking one down and kicking at him before security broke up the rumble.
Both Arlovski and Doherty have released statements about the incident, but now Doherty is taking it a step further and issued a challenge to Arlovski for a fight — not with Doherty, of course. But his body guard.
“Guy’s my security guard is down to box that Andrei guy in a fight,” Doherty said. “Andrei, if you want to box my security guard, or fight him, let’s set it up. Let’s do it the right way. Both of you guys will get the biggest pay day of your lives — and me, too, baby. You’re not leaving me out of this shit because I brought you back, baby.
“We’re going to do a fight: My security guard vs. you. I’m going to get all of the money, you two are going to fight. Let’s go.”
MMA Fighting reached out to Arlovski’s manager, Abe Kawa of First Round Management to get his response.
“We absolutely accept,” Kawa told MMA Fighting.
Kawa also stated they are trying to locate Doherty’s contact information that Arlovski is 100 percent in, and to get the fight on the books.
Arlovski is currently slated to face Ben Rothwell for the BKFC heavyweight title at Knuckle Mania 6 in February.
