Max Holloway does not want to be the only BMF.

‘Blessed’ will return this Saturday at UFC 326, where he’s set for an opportunity to enhance his status as the most successful BMF champion thus far.

After capturing the symbolic belt at the expense of Justin Gaethje in 2024, Holloway beat Dustin Poirier at UFC 318 last July to become the first to successfully defend it.

Oliveira will now challenge Holloway on March 7, and the reigning BMF champ thinks it marks a “fun fight” that the promotion needs more of.

Max Holloway says more BMFs will equal more fun fights in the UFC

Holloway made his pitch for more BMF titles during a recent interview on UFC legend Demetrious Johnson’s YouTube channel.

The symbolic belt continues to divide opinion, as does the UFC’s decision to have it headline numbered events.

But the Hawaiian is a big defender of his title, so much so that he would support the creation of more for each and every weight class.

“I love it (the BMF title). We’re headlining events with the BMF belt. It’s nice,” Holloway said. “Put a BMF belt in every single division.

“I just think it’s so fun, and you get to finally make fun fights, bro! There’s so many fun fights that I can think, like, man, that guy is maybe in the mid of it coming up, of the division, maybe put the BMF belt (up for grabs) and just put some guys that’s just gonna throw hands.

“I think it would be fun,” he added.

The BMF title is not enough to save a disappointing UFC 326 lineup

Regardless of how fans view the BMF title, not many will be complaining about the chance to see ‘Blessed’ and ‘Do Bronx’ run it back.

The pair first collided in 2015, when Holloway beat Oliveira at UFC Saskatoon after the Brazilian suffered a neck injury in the very first round.

But the opportunity for those two to collide a decade later after all the success they’ve achieved is not enough to save what is a lackluster UFC 326 card.

Overall, the lineup is the worst numbered event of the Paramount era, which has already caused plenty of complaints just three months in. The first quarter of 2026 has had just one undisputed title fight, and UFC 326 makes it two out of three numbered events to have had zero.

It appears clear that many of the belts are being saved for the White House card, but is that sacrifice worth it?
