Gavin Tucker reportedly retired despite UFC announcing his next fight for April 18

Reports stated on Thursday that the matchup between Gavin Tucker and Doo Ho Choi isn’t happening on April 18 despite the UFC announcing it.

The promotion has recently made several fights for their upcoming return to Canada official via social media but one of them looks to be incorrect.

Reporter Marcel Dorff wrote on X that despite the fight being announced just 45 minutes before his post, this matchup wouldn’t be taking place due to Tucker already being retired.

On top of this, Dorff said that the Canadian never signed the contract to make this matchup official in the first place.

RealKevinK later added that he’d spoken to Tucker who confirmed that he’s ending his career due to the damage that he’s suffered over the years.

The featherweight went 4-3 inside the Octagon, but hasn’t competed since a submission loss to Diego Lopes back in August, 2023.

UFC Winnipeg takes place on April 18 from the Canada Life Center and is headlined by a welterweight clash between Gilbert Burns and Mike Malott.
