The Garcias have once again picked up a win over the Haneys in another controversial fight.
In April 2024, Ryan Garcia and Devin Haney clashed in WBC super lightweight title fight as ‘King Ryan’ looked to win his first world title.
Garcia went on to score a shock unanimous decision win after dominating the champion for 12 rounds, knocking him down three times.
Despite that, the win was overturned to a no contest after Garcia tested positive for Ostarine in his pre and post-fight tests.

The Garcias celebrate another win over the Haneys
Both coming from boxing families, it isn’t just Ryan and Devin who compete in the sport.
In fact, this past Saturday, Garcia’s cousin, Jacob Herrera, took on Haney’s brother, Sean Haney, in an amateur match.
After three rounds of action, Herrera’s hand was controversially raised, with the wide majority of fans claiming it was a dodgy decision.
“My cousin just beat Devin Haney’s little brother in an amateur bout! Gave him his first L. Guess it runs in the family. TAKE THAT L,” Garcia reacted on X.
“Sean Haney just got beat by Jacob Herrera my cousin! Proud of you Jacob way to go. Keep going! Train hard and anything is possible cousin.
“Garcias don’t lose to the Haneys. Devin Haney, I bet you didn’t know that was my cousin did you. Big W, haha!”

Garcia calls for rematch against Haney following family fight
Having had his first world title win overturned, ‘King Ryan’ bounced back with another world title win just a few weeks ago, beating Mario Barrios to become the WBC welterweight champion.
Following that, the 27-year-old was linked to a fight against Conor Benn, however, ‘The Destroyer’s’ Zuffa Boxing fight was announced to take place against Regis Prograis.
And with that, Garcia has now turned his attention to a rematch against Haney, hoping to settle the score following their first clash.
“Haney, if it’s time to end you, it’s time. You will be erased, I heard you speaking my name. If this is what you want! Let’s start the discussions. Mark my words, you’ll never fight again after this, so let that sink in and accept it before you say yes,” Garcia said.
“Fans if you really want this Haney fight next, demand it. With everything I’ll do it next but I need the intensity.”
“Let’s start our VADA testing so we can make the biggest fight in boxing,” Haney responded.
