Kris Moutinho admitted that he was ‘flat’ during his fourth consecutive UFC loss to Cristian Quinonez
In Mexico City, Kris Moutinho was beaten by Cristian Quinonez over three rounds in their bantamweight matchup on the prelims.
The American admitted in his corner ahead of the third round that he felt flat inside the Octagon after his coaches mentioned this to him.
All three judges scored every round to his opponent, with the commentators pointing out several ways that Moutinho needed to adjust his pressure to counter Quinonez’s movement and striking advantage.
Moutinho suffered an incredibly one-sided loss to Sean O’Malley back in 2021, where he made his UFC debut on short notice on the same night as Conor McGregor’s trilogy with Dustin Poirier.
A loss to Guido Cannetti ended his initial run with the promotion but an impressive five-fight win streak earned him another opportunity.
His return in June of last year saw Moutinho get knocked out by Malcolm Wellmaker in devastating fashion.
While he may have had more time to show what he’s capable of this time around, he was unable to get anything going against Mexico’s Quinonez, who bounced back from consecutive losses.
