Just nine days before UFC 321, the UFC announced a new bout for the upcoming pay-per-view event.
The promotion announced on Friday that a lightweight tilt between Nasrat Haqparast and Quillan Salkilld has been added to the Oct. 25 fight card at Etihad Arena in Abu Dhabi.
Haqparast has quietly put together an impressive run in the UFC’s lightweight division as he enters the bout on a five-fight win streak. The 30-year-old picked up a split division win over Esteban Ribovics at UFC Vegas 103 in the event’s Fight of the Night. Haqparast’s current streak includes victories over Jamie Mullarkey and Jared Gordon as he prepares to make the walk to the octagon for the 15th time in his career.
Salkilld was won nine fights in a row, as he makes his third UFC appearance. The Contender Series contract winner in 2024 is 2-0 in the UFC, which includes a Performance of the Night bonus earning 19-second knockout of Anshul Jubli at UFC 312 in February, and a decision win over Yanal Ashmouz at June’s UFC 316 event.
UFC 321 is headlined by a heavyweight title fight between Tom Aspinall and Ciryl Gane, while the vacant strawweight title is up for grabs in a rematch between Virna Jandiroba and Mackenzie Dern in the co-main event.
