Keiichiro Nakamura didn’t punch his ticket to the UFC, he kneed it.
On Saturday night, Nakamura squared off with Sebastian Szalay on the prelims of UFC 325, competing for the Road to UFC season four featherweight title and a UFC contract, and for over 10 minutes, things weren’t looking great. Szalay controlled the action for the first two rounds, leaving Nakamura in search of a finish to win the fight, and he found out.
With just over a minute remaining in the bout, right as Szalay dipped in to throw his left hand, Nakamura timed a knee up the middle, catching Szalay perfectly on the chin and sending him spinning to the canvas. The Japanese fighter saw his moment and pounced, delivering a couple of punches before referee Herb Dean stepped in to call the bout off, giving Nakamura a sensational comeback KO.
