UFC 328 has a date and location, and the card is already taking shape.
MMA Fighting confirmed with sources with knowledge of the situation that the UFC is planning to bring a numbered event to Prudential Center in Newark, N.J., on May 9. A middleweight bout is already set for the card, as Marco Tulio (14-2) takes on Roman Kopylov (14-5).
This continues the UFC’s run of events in Newark, with pay-per-views having been hosted there yearly since 2023.
Tulio, a 2024 Contender Series signing, won his first two UFC fights before being stopped by Christian Leroy Duncan this past November. Prior to that loss, Tulio scored knockouts of Tresean Gore and Ihor Potieria, making it four straight victories by KO/TKO for the Brazilian.
This is an important fight for Kopylov, who is on a two-fight skid after dropping consecutive decisions to Gregory Rodrigues and Paulo Costa. Kopylov’s UFC record stands at 6-5, with five of those victories coming by way of knockout.
A headliner for UFC 328 is still to be determined.
