UFC Houston medical suspensions: 2 fighters receive indefinite suspensions after event

February 24, 2026

UFC Houston started out slow but ultimately delivered a violent main card with several big finishes and now the fighters who competed in Texas have been notified about medical suspension stemming from the event.

The Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation released the medical suspensions from the event headlined by Sean Strickland’s third-round knockout over Anthony “Fluffy” Hernandez.

Following his big win, which could potentially earn him a middleweight title shot, Strickland was only handed a brief layoff with the former champion suspended until March 3.

Despite suffering the knockout loss, Hernandez didn’t suffer any ill effects from the finish and he was handed a suspension that runs through March 24.

In the co-main event, Uros Medic delivered a highlight reel knockout over veteran welterweight contender Geoff Neal. Medic was suspended until March 1 while Neal was handed a month long suspension running through April 23.

Due to medical laws in Texas, details about the medical suspensions are not released.

Two fighters on the UFC Houston card were handed indefinite layoffs including Alden Coria, who picked up his second win in the octagon this past Saturday night, but he’ll be forced to get medical clearance before he’s allowed to compete again. Ramiz Brahimaj was also handed an indefinite suspension after his loss to Punahele Soriano on Saturday night’s card.
