Colby Covington was a shock beneficiary of the latest UFC rankings update.
On Tuesday, Uros Medic shot into the welterweight top 15 after brutally knocking out Geoff Neal at UFC Houston three days prior.
Geoff Neal dropped out of the rankings, and Daniel Rodriguez moved down two spots from 13th to 15th.
Bizarrely, the only other move at 170lbs saw Colby Covington climb one spot from 14th to 13th, even though he hasn’t fought in 437 days and hasn’t won a fight since beating Tyson Woodley by TKO 1,452 days ago.

Fans fume at Colby Covington’s rankings move
UFC fans are baffled by a fighter moving up the rankings despite being inactive for 14 months.
They think Colby Covington should be removed from the top 15 due to the fact that he hasn’t tasted victory since September 2020.
“Lmfaoooooooo UFC is a joke,” one fan said. While another asked: “How is that even remotely possible?”
“He shouldn’t even be in the rankings,” a third fan added.
“At this rate, I could be a ranked UFC fighter,” someone else joked.
“It’s because he loves [Donald] Trump, and so does Dana White,” another X user theorized.
“Couple more years of inactivity, and he’ll be top 5,” a sixth fan wrote.

Colby Covington recently revealed he is negotiating with the UFC for the ‘biggest fight’ of his career.
The proud American has made no secret about his desire to fight at the White House on June 14.
“I’ve been negotiating with the UFC for the White House card. You know, that’s the one that I want,” Covington said during an appearance on Hot Cakes & Hot Takes.
“I told them this is important to my legacy and important to my career. This would be the biggest fight I’ve ever had. To fight on the south lawn in front of the President would be the greatest honor of my career.
“We’re in negotiations right now.”
It’s unclear who his opponent will be, but Dana White has ruled out one massive matchup.
“Total BS,” the UFC CEO said when a rumor about Covington fighting Conor McGregor went viral.
UFC White House matchmaking is done, so it’s just a matter of time before we find out who Covington’s next opponent will be.
