UFC Vegas 110 live blog: Steve Garcia vs. David Onama

November 2, 2025

This is the live blog for Steve Garcia vs. David Onama, the featherweight main event for Saturday’s UFC Vegas 110 card at the UFC APEX in Las Vegas.

Garcia has been on a tear as of late, entering his first UFC headliner on a six-fight win streak. After finishing five consecutive opponents inside of two rounds, “Mean Machine” picked up his biggest win to date in his most recent bout when he defeating Calvin Kattar via unanimous decision at UFC Nashville in July. Garcia also holds octagon wins over Chase Hooper, Kyle Nelson, and Seung Woo Choi.

Onama is also one of the division’s surging contenders, entering his first main event a winner of four consecutive bouts. “Silent Assassin” recently defeated Giga Chikadze via decision at UFC Kansas City in April. Onama is 6-2 inside the octagon.

According to FanDuel, Steve Garcia closes as a slight favorite at -138, with the comeback on David Onama is +118.

Tough one to call as both are talented, and both train at good camps, and both have a lot of momentum, but this is the first five-rounder in the UFC for both Garcia and Onama. The technique advantage seems to be with Onama, but Garica’s pace and aggression is such a weapon. This, to me, comes down to how it looks in the first 10 minutes. I can see Garcia ending this quickly, but Onama is very tough and durable. If Onama can push this one in the later rounds, he can get it done.

Official prediction is Garcia starts strong, maybe gets a knockdown early, but Onama weathers it, and uses his technical skill to slow the fight down into his world. I’ll side with the slight dog to win a close, competitive decision.

David Onama out first, Youssef Zalal in his corner. Steve Garcia out second and the dozens and dozens of fans at the APEX are ready.

The judges are Derek Cleary, Eric Colon, and Ron McCarthy, with Herb Dean as the referee.

They meet in the center, Onama keeping his distance. Already a warning for extended fingers. Good exchange from both guys, nice combination from Garcia. Big left hands from Garcia, jab from Onama. Good rip to the body from Garcia. Overhand left lands again from Garcia.

Jab from Onama, but answered with a three-punch combo from Garcia. Onama lands a counter left hand, but Garcia is just walking forward with little to no fear for what’s coming back at him. Zalal has picked up a tell on Onama and is screaming it in the corner, but it doesn’t matter because Garcia drops Onama and has him hurt. Onama bounces back to his feet, and Garcia drops him again. Big flurry and it’s over! Garcia gets it done in a round!

Official Result: Steve Garcia def. David Onama via TKO – Round 1, 3:34

Garcia says he’s been praying for this moment since he was 15. Then calls out Max Holloway for the BMF title, which might be a top-5 worst callout in UFC history.
