Video: Muhammad Mokaev wins title with head knockout at Brave CF 100

November 7, 2025

Muhammad Mokaev continues to make his case that he’s one of the best flyweights in the world.

The undefeated Mokaev—No. 10 at 125 pounds in the MMA Fighting Global Rankings—kept his perfect record intact at Saturday’s Brave CF 100 event in Isa Town, Bahrain, needing a little more than a round to put opponent Gerard Burns down for the count. Mokaev scored a head kick knockout to improve to 15-0 (1 NC) as a pro and 6-0 in his second stint with Brave.

It was a showcase fight for Mokaev, who came out kicking from the opening bell, using a variety of techniques to stifle Burns’ aggression. It wasn’t until the closing minute of Round 1 that Mokaev showed off his trademark wrestling, taking Burns down to seal a dominant opening round. Then, eight seconds into Round 2, Mokaev unleashed a head kick followed by a pawing left that took Burns out of the fight.

In his post-fight speech, Mokaev continued a refrain he’s repeated often since parting ways with the UFC in 2024, declaring himself “the best flyweight in the world, No. 1.” He also stated his plan to fight Borislav Nikolic if he beat Mokaev’s teammate Hamza Kooheji in Saturday’s bantamweight championship main event. Sure enough, Nikolic defeated Kooheji via fourth-round knockout, and Mokaev later stepped into the cage to face off with him, seemingly setting up the champ vs. champ fight.
